Anthony Spinks

Anthony Spinks is part of the Policy Research and Writing Committee with the Law Offices of Mark T. Harris. Mr. Spinks is currently a fourth year undergraduate student at the University of California, Merced. He is striving for a Bachelor of Science in Management and Business Economics. Mr. Spinks is a first generation Mexican-American student from Van Nuys, CA. Currently, Mr. Spinks is a member of the Merced Pre-Law Society. Through the mentorship of Professor Mark T. Harris and Dr. Mari Harris, he had the pleasure to serve as a leader in the first annual Willie Lewis Brown, Jr. Youth Leadership Development Program on UC Merced’s very own campus. The program was designed to introduce middle school students from all over California to the college life style and provide knowledge on what it takes to enroll and stay enrolled in college.
Mr. Spinks also interned at Central Valley Leaders, a non-profit organization which aims to provide young students with leadership experience in their interested career field as well as exposing these leaders to other opportunities. Mr. Spinks was Senior Editor on the UC Merced Undergraduate Research Journal and continues to serve as an editor for the journal. He appeared as a guest editor on the Pan African Journal in the Fall of 2015.
One of Mr. Spinks’ biggest accomplishments is being the first generation to attend college. He strives to continue his success as he plans on attending law school at the University of San Francisco to pursue a career in Business and Civil Rights Law.
